ok - i was memed

my sister april memed me (i have no idea what it means). and i wish i could ignore it, but i try to do things once. after that, if you meme me again, even on facebook, i probably won't do it. sorry! i know that it sounds snotty, but i just don't like to do them. (does this count for one of my meme's??)

1. i actually hate doing laundry. in a previous post i think i confused a few people.
2. i LOVE going to costco. i wish i had more:

• money
• time
• room in my freezer
• room in my car

3. i don't like baths or hot tubs very much. every once in awhile i feel like taking a soak, but really not that often. i get too hot and then i feel like it is just a big waste of water. if i make the water cooler, then i feel like i am cold.
4. i love playing battleship with my son. of all the things he wants me to do or play with him, i love playing battleship. i remember loving the game as a kid too. he just got the game from money he saved up. we play it at least twice a day!
5. i used to suck my thumb. i sucked my thumb until i was in second grade. my mom bribed me to stop (go mom!). she bought me a faux cabbage patch kid when i officially stopped. it was a boy and his name was michael. some of you probably know that i sucked my thumb. but here's something you don't know (don't worry, i'm not going to say i still do!). sometimes, when i am really tired, i'll wake up with my fist resting next to my mouth, like i wanted to suck my thumb. it must still be comforting.
6. (i'm trying to think of a memory, like april thought up. how about:) when i was in jr. high, my family took a road trip to yellowstone and i think a family reunion in there somewhere. my older sisters, april and jo, were in colorado springs for a couple of weeks before the trip. so my mom, dad and elisabeth headed to cs to pick them up. one night we were at a camp ground getting ready to eat dinner. we always 'thanked god for our food' before we ate (in fact, if we started to eat before we prayed, we would have to wait a few minutes to eat after we prayed. my mom would start the timer on the microwave and everything! ya know, i may just try that with my kids!) so with the food on the table and the four of us sitting around, i had a brilliant idea! i would ask my dad if i could bless the food! so i did:
me: dad, can i bless the food tonight?
my dad: (with a pretty shocked look on his face said) sure!
so in a grand motion, i waved my hands over the food on the table and said, BLESS!
we all laughed for a long time and then i had to really ask god for the blessing...
7. and finally, i like lima beans. no one uses them in recipes very much anymore. i don't think i have ever bought them as a grown up, but i like them.

so there ya go - some random, wierd things about me. if you ever have me over, i may ask to bless your food especially if you serve lima beans ;)
