today our little girl took yet another step towards young lady-hood. nana and john came out for the weekend and as her birthday gift (and mommy's request) they got her ears pierced!! (can you believe it jen??) she did sooo great. after the first ear was pierced, she said, OW! but no tears. (and when i saw the earring in her ear, i just thought -- ohhhh sooo cute!! i love it!) when the lady went to pierce the other ear, she cried and said, NO! i had to hold her hands down slightly, not too bad. she had one single tear running down her cheek that broke your heart a bit. and she won't let you get close to touching them now - but other than that, she seriously looks ADORABLE!

just now i let out a big "OHHH!" in the computer lab and made everyone look. at first they thought something was wrong but then all agreed that she looks so pretty.
and look at those tan arms...and french braids...sigh.
