fireworks all over

so it is totally legal to have all kinds of crazy, fire-making things here in texas. we bought the 'big grande' box and had lots of fun watching adam light them and run. a few of the neighbor kids and their families came out and lit some of theirs, too. the girls didn't make it, they were so tired from the day. but the rest of us braved the heat and humidity, insects and flying objects to watch the fireworks. towards the end of the street, the block party had some really amazing fireworks they were launching and we could see them fairly well from our driveway. lots of neighbors were doing their own thing in the field across from our house, so it was almost like we had a 360 degree view of fireworks. it reminded me a lot of when we were kids and how cool and exciting the 4th of july was. nana only had to get out of the way once for an out of control whirly firework that fell a few inches away from where she was sitting.
