Day 1 - bottle detox

Day 1 started much like i thought it would - with lots of tears... she cried and cried for her 'bahhh' -- i offered her a cup, but no takes.

so, i offered her an art project - and she loved it! but see her red swollen eyes? poor baby - but she's not a baby, she's a big girl ;)

all smiles! i love this picture!

right before we went on a walk, to get some fresh air. and hopefully a distraction, too.

how come they walk sooo slow? oh yeah, my legs are about 10x longer!

grace striking a pose... so cute

norah trying to strike a pose... not quite as cute, but cuter in lots of other ways!

checking out our shadows

after our walk, we ate lunch and i put her down for a nap. she cried and cried for a bottle. she cried for almost an hour! i felt horrible! i was just about to go get her (i told her that i would get her in an hour if she didn't fall asleep) when grace went in there. she told me that norah wanted me. and when i went in there, she was asleep!

the nap didn't last long... maybe 20 minutes. and when she woke up, she was mad!! she cried and screamed and whined and yelled!! she kept reaching for the counter, thinking i had the bottles up high. (actually i threw them out! that's how serious i am about this!!)

soon, jayden was home. he offered her one of his 'jolly rogers' (jolly ranchers) and that sent all sorts of emotions through her little body. at first she said NOO! so i told jayden, that was really nice of you, but i guess she doesn't want it. and right after i said it, she said, OK. so jayden picked out the color she asked for (even though she has no idea which color is which!) and was happy almost immediately.

can you see that little bulge on her left cheek? yep, that's the candy!

the night ended in a 'baa-tub' (norah's version of bath tub) with grace. boy, they look like they need one!!

once everyone was showered/bathed, dressed and brushed, i started playing a game with them
trying to lift up the blankey fast, to catch that pic of their faces when the blanket leaves them and they focus on you... so funny...

there they are!
so the day ended with some smiles. once i tucked her in to bed, she cried/whined for about 20 minutes. but was soon asleep. not too bad for our first day.
hopefully day 2 will be even better!

Love the pix. I clicked on each to get the full impact! That one of Norah with her mouth open, and gracie hunched over with bright eyes and a smile is darling. They are growing up toooo fast.
