Day 2 - bottle detox

We begin day 2 with not a whine or cry. she asked for the 'bah' once that morning, but she settled for some animal crackers and a yogurt drink - actually, it was 2 or 3 of those little drinks.

mmmm....

she was saying, 'tissue, tissue, tissue...' and blowing into the kleenex.

and i made playdough (thanks for the recipe nancy!!). the girls were distracted for over an hour with squishy, smooshy, lovely playdough!

norah, imparticular, loved the pink playdough
soon after playdough was cleaned up, the girls requested to watch WALL-E

they often sit on this little chair together. i noticed they were holding hands.

and then the little stinker tried to sneak into the butter!

um, i guess i should stop her!
she needs to make up that dairy calorie intake somewhere. all that milk she used to drink has left her hungry for milk fat!

and we picnicked in the living room. once in awhile i will let the kids do this - just to change up the routine. so they watched their movie and ate pizza.

my mom did this with us girls, too - it's a good memory.

after the movie was over, i picked up the little girl and off to nap. she laid down and didn't make one sound! she asked for the bottle, but i just said - no, sorry. she took a book with her instead and she slept her normal nap.
when she woke up, jayden was home and i thought since she did such an awesome job, i would reward her (them) with ice cream! (again, the whole milk fat thing comes into play! ;) )

still a little sleepy, but happy with her ice cream.

aren't we all happy with a little ice cream??!!

rosie is never far from the mix... and norah is still as much her best friend as ever!

SAY CHEEEESE!

literally, that is CHEEEEESE!

our evening ritual of dishes and bubbles

and the day ended with a 'stroll' down the street.

both girls had their high heels and strollers, a plastic bag and a letter to mail.

norah did not have one melt down today! she was amazing! when we put her to bed, she cried and cried. not really for her bottle, though - just cried for, 'mooommmy!' we left her in there for an hour and after jayden got up a couple of times requesting we make her stop - adam went and got her. she snuggled with him for a bit. he asked her why she couldn't sleep.
A: was grace snoring?
norah nods her head.
A: did the snoring keep you up?
norah nods her head.
so after about 20 minutes of cuddle time,
adam put her down again and she didn't make another sound.
so, this ends the tale of Bottle Detox - Day 2.

You are a good writer. Who would have thought to use Detox for a bottle.
