Pergola

Day 1:
Adam rented a sod cutter and went to work on cutting the lovely green weeds we had growing.

Day 2:
We hired a crew with a small tractor/bobcat to rip out the remaining green stuff that was growing, as well as pouring concrete for the larger patio.

Day 3:
The crew went right to work, framing out the 'new' patio.

Day 4:
After the concrete was poured, I had to make our mark on it. Except, I am ashamed to say, I spelled our name wrong. I had to correct it - hence, the blurry marks around the 'c'.

Days 5 - 10:
My parents came out for Thanksgiving, so we took full advantage of my dad's knowledge, tools and strength to help us with the building process of the actual pergola. (Thanks Dad! We absolutely love the space you helped us create!)

Final Product! (Almost...)

We obviously have some landscaping to do. That will just have to wait til spring!

Love that shot of teaching Jayden how to pull a nail :-) I think the pergola is proportioned well for the house. Lookin good with everything stained!

Also love that pix of Jay wearing my tool belt. And there was the moment when I was playing Tarzan from above and missed the ladder. They had to come to my rescue before I injured my arm. It ended up black and blue on the underside (this should end all wonderment about how I broke my foot painting the store.)

We clicked on the pix for clarity and were enjoyed a bigger image of Grace. I don't look as fat as I feel. Or do I?
