Camping with Friends - New Year's Eve/Day

Over the New Year holiday, our friends (Josh and Michelle) invited us to camp in the RV for a few days. It's been said that we are a 'camping family', what with having gone 4 times this year... but really, there's nothing like camping in this 'rig'. So, when they invited us this time - we pretty much jumped at it! And we are so glad we did. It was a great time, great friends, great kids, and the park we stayed at was, well, great.

Jay jamming on a scooter...

There were a total of 3 families - us, Josh & Michelle's family, and Shane & Jenny's family -and a total of 7 kids

it was pretty muddy, so we picked up some rain boots for the kids. Norah got the cutest ones, purple camo - the others got plain black. (which they got to paint, cause poor Grace was heartbroken over the hideousness of those plain black rubber boots, and rightly so!)

the boys - Landon, Jayden and Mason

and sweet Michelle made a cake for Jayden - it was so thoughtful...
Grace, Lainie and Megan sing to Jay

and the impatience of the crowd grew while the grown-ups cut the cake... and Jayden takes a moment to sneeze! ha!

One of the best things about Texas is, there is always an excuse to light a firework!
We bundled up on New Year's Eve and lit a few sparklers...
Norah is waiting her turn (Recognize the hat, Auntie Elisabeth??)

oh yes, the anticipation builds

Finally! Sparklers!!

he's melting a water bottle... :)

this one is just funny.
daddy wants a kiss, Grace doesn't!

mommy wants a kiss, daddy doesn't!
say what??!!

Norah was so bundled up (I think temps were around 30 degrees this night) she looked like a pastel colored marshmallow!

and the hammock the next day! the kids swung on this for hours... i called them the 'peas in a pod'...
