a few days ago, i was telling my mom about a picture i'd found of myself as a little girl sneaking into a cake. i was eating the frosting. i was reminded of the time when my niece, Sarah, was a little girl (she's almost 10 now!) sneaking into the pumpkin pie at thanksgiving. we also have a picture of that.
well, i knew that grace was sneaking into the butter, much like sarah and i did with cake or pie when we were little. raking her little fingers across the softened stick of butter that was sitting out, within a long reach of her arm. but, i had no (NO) idea that norah was doing it, too. that is, until a couple of days ago. i was getting everything out to make mac n' cheese for our lunch, when i turned around, both girls were sticking fingers (grubby, dirty, little fingers) into my butter! they would get a big glop (is that a word?) of butter onto their finger and walk away, licking away, until it was gone. then they'd come back for more. i can understand sweet frosting, or yummy pumpkin pie, but butter?? go figure!

Way too cute!!Love, gammie
My mom used to let me lick the butter wrapper whenever she used a whole stick (like in cookies or something). Frosting or batters are better, but butter will do in a pinch!
LOL. great pix. FYI I use to eat butter by the spoonful when I was that age. My folks could never figure out why I liked it.
E used to do this when she was a little girl...i remember her walking past the margerine and sticking her finger in it as she passed!!!! so funny....
So cute! I have a little Ben who's favorite place in the house is up on the counter next to the butter dish :) I love how Norah has her chubby little fingers poised and ready for another lick!
Mmmm...BUTTER!!!!
Another one bites the dust!! XOXOXOX
I guess it runs in the blood...April is right, I remember doing that with the margarine tub in the fridge and the croutons in the pantry...heehee I still sneak the croutons but left margarine behind a loooooooooong time ago!
I call my daughter paula deen b/c of her love of butter. :) I love that you got a picture of them in action.
