after having a tough discipline session with jayden this afternoon, i was informed that he would never be my 'favorite boy' again! ever!
i wanted to yell back, 'it's gammie who tells you that you're her 'favorite' boy (and those quotes have a double meaning!), not me!' cause i was just as frustrated and disappointed as he was.
but i didn't. cause he is my favorite boy. (you're my favorite man, honey!)
and the bottom line is, i know the discipline worked if it's hard to take. ya know?
so back to the double meaning of those quotation marks around favorite from a certain gammie most of us know and love. first of all, when we were kids, my mom (gammie) would tuck each of my 3 sisters and i into bed every night. she'd pray for us. gives us hugs and kisses. and then proceed to tell each of us that we were her favorite. it was devastating when we found out later. nah, it wasn't... but we do tease her often about it. second meaning, i was just making a sarcastic remark about jayden saying it to me. shocking, huh?
(p.s. about 15 minutes later, jayden came to me sobbing... asking for a hug. of course i gave it to him. i asked him if he would please be my favorite boy again. he agreed. i hope he always agrees.)

Jay--u r my favorite boy too!
And Jay, you are my favorite grandson in Texas!!Can't wait to see you and give you huge xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxxoxo, love, gammie
And I'm sure Gammie tells all the grandkids they are her favorite. :-)
I esteem your statement that you know the discipline worked if it's hard to take. Sometimes discipline is not easy to give. When raising ours I at times I would remember, "A child not disciplined in love doesn't learn to discipline their own life."
I appreciate Jay's heart.
