Jayden is even going to be one of The Beatles for Halloween - when they wore suits and ties. We plan to re-purpose the suit he wore to April and Bela's wedding and carry a faux-electric guitar around.
Each morning, on the way to school, Jayden gets in the car, grabs the ipod, searches for 'Can't Buy Me Love' and then turns up the volume. He sings very loudly, very clearly, very cutely. After 'Can't Buy Me Love', comes 'Hard Days Night', which I am sure is a song an 8 year old should not be singing -- but he does. He knows the words. All of them.
This afternoon, Jayden jumped in the car. He was happy. He had a great day, he said. He reaches for the ipod and finds, 'Can't Buy Me Love' and starts belting out the lyrics.
'Can't buy me loooo-ove. Loooo-oove.
Can't buy me loooo-OVE!
Say you don't need no diamond rings
and I'll be satisfied.
Tell me that you need the kind of things
that money just can't buy.' --
Then he turns to me and says, "Mom, do I sound like The Beatles?"
I say, "Totally."
And I start thinking of how I can blog about this.
Then he says, "Cause I'm singing and I can't even hear my voice... All I hear is The Beatles."
I say, "That's all I hear, too."
Yes, this boy melts my heart and makes me want the kind of things, that money just can't buy.
