Christmas Morning 2010

Do you know how hard it is to blog Christmas stuff 3 weeks after the fact?

It is hard.

But, if I don't get these on the blog,
I will have grandparents threatening me and breathing down my neck (just kidding gp's)... :)

So, here it goes.

Christmas Morning started at around 7:30 am.
Not bad, daddy and I appreciated that.

And, not surprisingly, Santa came!
He left presents and stocking goodies.
He's much better and more dependable than the tooth fairy, for sure.

Norah and Grace got Barbies.

Jayden got a Star Wars Lego thing-a-ma-jig.

And a flip camera (from us, Santa is not that good) -
which he has already misplaced once and found again, phew.

A new thing we did this year, I learned from a meeting with my MOMS group.
I took the kids to the Dollar Tree and let them pick out gifts for each other and for mommy and daddy. They each had a basket to shop with - and it was a huge success.
I loved every minute of it.
The shopping, the decision making, the wrapping, the giving...
It was amazing for me to see how each of the kids thought through what each other would like, and what we would like.
They did a great job.

This is Grace watching Norah open the gift she gave to her.
And Norah's response, a hug.
(after everything was over, we asked the kids what they thought the best thing about Christmas was. Grace and Norah said, GIVING gifts to each other!!)

Grace opening the gift Jay gave her.

Daddy opening Norah's gift to him.

John's gifts to the kids - BOOKS!

Grace got a Leapfrog Tag book set - now that's an awesome gift.

The girls got sweater boots!

More books from John!

looking a little Bono-esque

Norah opened the Jay's gift to her...

...and she loved it.

Her own Leapster!

Books!!

oh, dear. I forgot about the rapid-firing Nerf gun.

Someone getting worn out from all those gifts.

tricky worms -

the aftermath. whoa.

the smoking turkey begins to, well, smoke for dinner later.

all decked out and ready to rapid-fire dart someone to dart death.

fuzzy socks and pipe cleaners - it's that simple, folks.
