We found a tall, skinny tree this year. I love it! The tree when into its stand nicely, full cooperation is key to making this evening a success! Jayden helped me with the lights this year. It was a very welcome surprise.
I think Norah is still decorating the tree. She takes them off. Sorts them by color, then by size, then by "carpet" (the yarn ones). I remember Grace doing this at the same age.
stop - pose - don't gimme a fake smile
all of Norah's end up in one place.
Grace is branching (get it?) out this year - going higher and more spread out.
Daddy put his Abominable Snowman near the top, like he always does.
The kids even told him this year that it was ugly...
but he thinks he's funny with it, so we let him. :)
This is the girls, watching Daddy put Jayden on his shoulders so he could put the star on top of the tree.
i love that Adam let jay do this.
next year, we are going to put the girls on Jay - he'll be tall enough!
We were trying to get Grace to stand on Adam's shoulders - she wouldn't. i think she was scared or something ;)
So i handed the camera over to Jayden and i held onto her as she straightened the star.
Norah didn't want to stand on his shoulders either - and she opted to just get down.
maybe next year...
So we are beginning to get into the Christmas spirit around here. It is definitely not as decorated as it has been in years past, but hopefully it's enough!
