a couple of weeks ago, adam went fishing. he told the kids about going on a boat and catching red snapper and a king fish. so, naturally the kids wanted to go on a boat, too. somehow, he talked them into just building a boat and going to a pond to see if it would float.
and so, on a hot (HOT!) sunday evening, we built boats with the kids - you know the ones. you first fold paper into a hat then a few more folds and you have a boat. after folding a few boats, the kids painted them and then we took a drive down the street to the part of our sub-division that has the 'lake'. and we pushed the boats out into the water and watched them sit. just, sit. in the still, lifeless water. due to the still, hot air.
