This Easter, we were talking to Jayden about the true meaning of the day. In Jayden's Sunday School class they have been talking about Moses and the Great Exodus. (Adam and I were wondering why they weren't talking about Jesus and the Resurrection, but we have some Bible stories to catch up on, so we won't nag.) That leaves us, his parents, to explain the crucifixion and resurrection. The Saturday before Easter I was trying to underscore the meaning of Easter and what came along with it was the explanation of salvation, how each of us has to make a choice to live for Jesus. He was asking great questions, why do we have to? What happens if we don't choose Jesus? The whole time my heart is pounding, I am thinking, "This could be it! This could be when he asks Jesus in his heart!" Here is a recreation of the last bit of our dialogue:
Jayden: Who did you choose, mommy?
Me: I chose Jesus.
Jayden: Who did daddy choose?
Me: He chose Jesus.
A great pause.
Jayden: I choose Moses.
We are so proud. He is now growing side locks and following a Kosher diet.
